Hiking around the Kaisergebirge in Tyrol

This stage offers unparalleled variety, plunging you into the heart of the massif and its majestic landscapes. The ascent through the Kaisertal valley is punctuated by a descent into the Kaiserbach gorge, followed by a climb to the Gasthof Ritzau Alm, perched at 1161 m, offering spectacular views of the Wilderkaiser mountain range. You will then skirt the Zahmer Kaiser, with the Pyramidenspitze (2002 m) dominating our route throughout the day. The highlight of the day is a visit to the traditional Vorderkaiserfeldenhütte mountain inn, nestled at the foot of the Petersköpfl. It's the perfect opportunity to relax on the terrace and enjoy breathtaking views of Kufstein, the Inn Valley, and the Bavarian Alps. The trail continues along the winding Ebbser Steig alpine path, descending towards the Gamsschaukopf, then winds through forests and alpine pastures to Aschinger Alm, offering panoramic views of the Walchsee Valley. The descent into the wide valley will bring you back to your hotel, where you will spend two nights. You can also enjoy the hotel's fitness and wellness area.

Several other variations are possible depending on your preferences or your level of fatigue.

The day will be a loop through the Chiemgau Alps, offering a landscape of rolling hills and flowery meadows. Alpine farms dot this verdant panorama. A welcome break is planned at the Gasthof Wandberghütte before crossing the German border. You will then reach the Ackeralm inn, followed by the Priener Hütte mountain hut (1411 m). The descent will take you through a long valley where the Baumgartenbach stream meanders, with the option of a final stop at the Riederalm "Jausenstation" (river station) before returning to Walchsee.

After this day, you can relax by the lake and in the village before returning to the hotel by bus, to enjoy the fitness and wellness area integrated into the establishment.

A remarkable mountain stage, steeped in alpine character, that plunges into the heart of the Kaisergebirge massif. The day begins peacefully through alpine pastures and forests overlooking Lake Walchsee, then descends into the wild Weissenbach valley, which you will ascend to the Feldalmsattel pass. A final climb will take you to a small pass, then to the exceptional Stripsenjochhaus inn, built between 1901 and 1902, one of the oldest mountain huts of the Alpine Club of the Northern Alps. The final descent of approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes will bring you back to the mountain inn, nestled at 860 meters in the Kaisertalbach valley.

You will leave the Fischbachalm inn to begin the ascent of the Feldberg, the highest point of the day, via a recently developed trail that, despite its difficulty, offers breathtaking views. Your route will then take you along the ridge towards the Scheibenbühelberg (1613 m), then across the Scheibenbühelalm alpine pasture (1280 m) before descending to the small hamlet of Griesenau, nestled at the bottom of the valley at the entrance to the Kaiserbachtal nature reserve. A short journey by regular bus (at your own expense) will then take you to the small village of Kirchdorf, perched at 650 m altitude at the foot of the mountain, in a landscape adorned with charming farms and flowery alpine meadows. Several routes are possible to facilitate this stage.

On this stage, you can reach either Ellmau or Scheffau. To reach Ellmau, take the bus to the hamlet of Gasteig (at your own expense). This long and spectacular stage runs along the southern slope of the Wilder Kaiser, overlooking the stunning Ellmau Valley. You will pass the small Hackeralm mountain hut (1097 m) to reach the alpine path at Niederalm, which will lead you to the Ackerlhütte mountain hut, perched at the foot of the rocky south face of the Ackerlspitze (2329 m). You will pass by the Baumgartenköpfl, offering magnificent views of the valley, then descend to the Gaudeamushütte before continuing into the Hausbach valley. After crossing the Wochenbrunner Alm (1085 m), you will reach the small village of Ellmau nestled at the end of the valley. It is also possible to reach Ellmau by taxi-bus from Wochenbrunner Alm.

To reach Scheffau, the route is the same up to Gaudeamushütte before taking a 2-hour path to reach the town.

You will depart from Ellmau or Schefau, from where you will take a bus to Lake Hintersteiner See (882 m). Nestled in a stunning setting, it is renowned as the most beautiful and cleanest mountain lake in Tyrol. The rocky peaks of the Kaiser Mountains are reflected in its turquoise waters. You will follow the "Seeweg," a path along the lake at the foot of the Achleitner Kögel (1229 m). The final climb will take you to the charming Stofflhütte mountain inn, perched at 1150 m, where you can stop for a break to enjoy the house beer or Kaiserschmarrn with chocolate, before a gentle descent back to Kufstein. The hike ends in Kufstein.
