This trek is suitable for anyone in good physical condition. Each day involves approximately 3.5 hours of walking at a pace adapted to the group, punctuated by regular breaks to enjoy the scenery, rest, and share snacks. The route is mostly flat with very slight elevation changes. No trekking experience is necessary, just a desire to walk and experience an immersive journey into the heart of the Sahara.

Ibrahim was born in the Sahara . It is there that he grew up, surrounded by its dunes, until he knew every nuance of them. For many years, he has guided walking tours there, happy to offer those who accompany him a genuine immersion and moments of sharing.
He comes from the Nouaji tribe, a family deeply rooted in nomadic traditions. For generations, they roamed the Sahara with the seasons, following the stars and the needs of their herds. Their home was a tent, always ready to be pitched elsewhere, and each journey brought its own set of adventures.
Over time, living conditions in the desert have changed, and climate change has gradually altered certain balances. Resources have become more limited, and their family settled in M'Hamid El Ghizlane. This transition, however, did not sever their connection to the desert; it simply opened a new chapter.
Today, treks allow them to reconnect with the nomadic lifestyle that remains at the heart of their identity. Each encounter is an opportunity to pass on a part of this heritage: setting up camp, moving at the pace of the caravan, and gazing up at the vastness of the sky.
The desert remains their refuge and source of inspiration. By inviting you to discover this world, they keep alive a nomadic spirit that continues to accompany them.

The Nouaji family, nomads, are deeply rooted in the desert and its traditions. For generations, they have roamed the vast expanses of the Sahara, guided by the stars and the needs of their herds. Constantly on the move, they live in tents, each encampment an adventure to be discovered.
Over time, the harsh realities of the desert, particularly drought, led them to adopt a semi-sedentary lifestyle in M'hamid el Ghizlane. This choice in no way severed their connection to the desert; it simply opened a new chapter in their nomadic life. Today, they generously and cheerfully share their culture and expertise, offering travelers an authentic and profoundly human experience.

Transport by minibus/taxi – 7.5 hours journey from Marrakech (425 km) and 4 hours from Ouarzazate (255 km). Arrival in M'Hamid El Ghizlane around 6:00 PM.
If you have chosen to land in Marrakech, you will depart for the desert at 8:00 AM. The journey begins with a crossing of the High Atlas Mountains, a spectacular range dotted with traditional Berber villages. You will admire the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), an iconic gateway to southeastern Morocco.
If you arrive the day before in Ouarzazate, a minibus from Marrakech with part of the group will pick you up between 11:30 and 12:30. A group lunch is planned in Ouarzazate before continuing towards the Drâa Valley, known for its thousand kasbahs and vast palm groves, as far as M'Hamid El Ghizlane, at the gates of the desert.
Stops are planned along the way to take photos, discover local argan oil cooperatives or buy some handcrafted souvenirs.
From M'Hamid, an easy 20-minute walk will take you to your bivouac, nestled in the heart of nature, where your team of nomads will welcome you with traditional tea. This is a first moment of sharing before enjoying the sunset, a dinner prepared on-site, and an evening around the campfire. You will spend your first night under the stars, in the heart of the Sahara.

After breakfast served around 8:00 am, we resume our walk at the pace of the caravan , for about 3 hours through the desert landscapes, towards Sidi Naji, a mausoleum built in homage to the ancestor of our tribe, the Nouaji.
Upon arrival, the nomads will have set up camp. Traditional tea and snacks will be served, followed by lunch. The afternoon offers precious time to slow down and fully appreciate the desert : admire the landscapes, relax in the shade of the camp, chat with your nomadic team, or simply let yourself be carried away by the silence and immensity of the place.
At the end of the day, you'll witness the spectacular sunset over the vast Sahara before sharing a dinner prepared by your team around the campfire. The evening continues in a warm and convivial atmosphere, filled with conversation and shared moments, before you spend the night in a tent or under the stars, facing the endless Saharan sky.

Day 3 -
On the Return Road - M'Hamid to Ouarzazate or Marrakech

After breakfast, departure around 8:30 am in a 4x4 from the desert to M'Hamid El Ghizlane (approximately 30-minute journey), then continuation by minibus or taxi to Ouarzazate or Marrakech, according to your choice.
A group lunch in Ouarzazate is planned for around 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM. After the meal, part of the group will stay in Ouarzazate for the last night at the hotel, while the other part will continue on to Marrakech, where arrival is planned for the end of the day around 7:00 PM.
To fully enjoy your trip and as a precaution, we recommend booking your return flight for the following day or later. Travel times may vary depending on traffic conditions, scheduled rest stops, or unforeseen circumstances. This will allow you to end your stay peacefully and also enjoy Marrakech or Ouarzazate before your departure.

Note
In keeping with the spirit of this journey, we do not offer fixed schedules down to the minute. The desert invites you to slow down, to let yourself be carried away by its natural rhythm and to fully experience the nomadic lifestyle.
Schedules may vary depending on the season and desert conditions. During the hottest months (September, October, April, and May), departures are generally earlier to take advantage of the milder temperatures. In winter (December, January, and February), it is possible to start the trek a little later, when temperatures are more pleasant.
The goal is to respect the rhythm of the desert while ensuring the comfort and enjoyment of the group.
