We arrived, my friends, my wife and I, on Monday afternoon, February 3rd.
The tour operator had taken our travel information and sent us all the necessary documents for booking the car, accommodation and diving.
Upon our arrival at the airport, a shuttle picked us up and took us to the agency to collect our vehicles.
We had been upgraded to a slightly larger vehicle.
After completing the necessary paperwork, we were able to hit the road. We had informed the residence where our rooms were located that we wouldn't be able to arrive before 5 p.m., when the agency closed. This wasn't a problem for them; the keys and instructions were in a lockbox for which the agency had sent us the code.
We arrived in the early evening after doing some shopping, and each took into account our accommodations for the next 11 days.
Our friends were delighted with their accommodation.
We found it dirty and in some respects dilapidated. The room was far from spotless. A wall socket was dangling, and the shower had significant mold growth.
And on our second night, the air conditioning started leaking terribly. This forced us to bail out our room and raise our belongings.
The following morning, as the agency at the residence was not yet open when we left for our scuba diving trips, I contacted Ursula, from the fully operational Tropical Tour, via WhatsApp.
Our problems were resolved in less than 24 hours. The Village Créole residence agency relocated us, and we were able to continue our stay without any issues. Their responsiveness was excellent.
Regarding our dives, we have nothing but praise. Espace Plongées in Trois-Îlets showed us numerous dive sites and we were very well supervised. Scheduling the dives was very easy; they were very accommodating and pleasant.
