The morning begins in the Northern way: feeding the dogs, preparing the equipment and getting ready for the first full day on the trail.
Before setting off, participants receive an introduction to the basics of mushing : how to drive a sled safely, use the brake, work as a team with the dogs, and care for them throughout the day. This first outing aims to familiarize them with driving a dog team and build confidence on the sled runners.
We then head towards a magnificent northern valley, surrounded by rugged mountains, frozen rivers, and endless wilderness. Traveling at the dogs' pace allows you to fully immerse yourself in the landscapes, the silence, and the raw beauty of the Yukon in winter.
At midday, we stop along the track to share a hot lunch around a fire while the dogs rest nearby. Far from the roads and the crowds, it's the perfect time to fully appreciate the tranquility of the North.
Before sunset, we return to base camp where the dogs are cared for and fed, before gathering around a hot meal for another night at base camp.
