A state-certified professional musher, former mountain soldier, and commando instructor, Frédéric has been passionate about sled dogs for over 30 years. He has served as president of the French Sled Dog Sports Federation and director of the French Mushing School. Now based in Swedish Lapland, he shares his unique expertise with simplicity, combining rigor, friendliness, and a deep respect for dogs and nature.

She has participated in the biggest European races, including the Grande Odyssée, where she distinguished herself through her performance and team spirit. If you choose to fly, we will pick you up at Arvidsjaur Airport and drive you to your accommodation (approximately a 1-hour drive). A charming, fully equipped traditional wooden chalet awaits you. Once you're settled in, we'll meet for dinner.
Day 1 -
Discovering dogs, learning to sled and snowshoeing

After a good night's sleep, we meet for a hearty breakfast and discuss the week's program.
We'll stop at the changing room to get your gear ready, then you'll meet the dogs. Our 60 dogs have names and live in enclosures based on compatibility: will you be able to recognize them by the end of your stay?! You'll learn all about their care, feeding, and training!
You will receive a technical briefing necessary for driving a dog sled, then we will move on to some technical exercises.
In the afternoon, you will set off on snowshoes to track animals and you will compose your end of the day according to your wishes: sauna, feeding the dogs...
Day 2 -
Introduction to sledding and snowshoeing with dogs

Putting into practice the skills learned the day before: you set off for an introduction, alone at the command of your team of 4 dogs, but always supervised by the musher.
In the afternoon, connected to your dog by an elastic leash and wearing a harness, you'll feel light as you move thanks to the dog's pulling power. The dog is a real help in the powder snow.
Return to the chalet for a family dinner and a relaxing evening. Possibility of viewing the Northern Lights if the sky is clear.
Day 3 -
Ski Altai and exploration of the Gimegolts canyon

Embark on a unique day of exploration combining Nordic skiing and the discovery of a preserved natural site.
After an introduction to Altaï skiing, accessible even to beginners, you'll smoothly glide through snow-covered forests and rolling hills. Wider and more stable than classic cross-country skis, these skis offer a fun and safe way to explore the great outdoors.
As we progress, we reach the wild Gimegolts canyon, a secluded spot with landscapes sculpted by time. Between passages through boreal forest, steep-sided valleys, and sweeping panoramas, this outing offers a true immersion in a raw and unspoiled Lapland.
A break in the great outdoors will be an opportunity to share a convivial moment around a fire, in the purest Nordic tradition.

🏠 Shared chalet - Days 1 to 5
Nestled in the heart of the Lappish forest, Chalet Tomte immerses you in a warm and authentic atmosphere. It combines traditional charm and modern comfort for a stay with family or friends.
The chalet has two sleeping areas:
- A large bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200) and a bunk bed (2 beds of 90 x 200).
- A separate mezzanine bedroom with a double bed (160 x 200).

The main arrival point is at Arvidsjaur Airport.
It is also possible to arrive at Luleå Airport. In this case, you can reach Arvidsjaur by regional bus via the Länstrafiken network (https://lanstrafikennorrbotten.se).
Transfers from Arvidsjaur to the place of stay are then organised by us, in the form of carpooling.
Transfer times are adapted according to the arrival times of participants and will be communicated to you in advance.
Arvidsjaur Airport (AJR): Located just 15 minutes from the city centre.
- Airlines: Primarily served by Populair (via Stockholm-Arlanda) or by direct charter flights from Germany (ProSky, Eurowings) during the winter season. From Paris, a stopover in Stockholm is usually required with Air France or SAS .
Luleå Airport (LLA): Located approximately 2 hours away by road. Served by SAS, Norwegian Airlines, Transavia…
There are even direct flights from Paris to Luleå with Transavia.
