    Mountain biking and e-mountain biking

    Beginner
For those wishing to discover mountain biking, enduro, or "All Mountain" riding, and who have little or no experience mountain biking in the mountains. You want to learn the essential technical skills for both descending and climbing on rideable trails.
    Intermediate
For occasional mountain bikers. You are comfortable shifting gears and modulating your braking, and you can clear obstacles by unweighting the bike. You will ride on 4x4 tracks that offer a gradual progression, though you may encounter the occasional steep section. Daily elevation gain is approximately 400 to 600 meters.
    Confirmed
For mountain bikers who are already enthusiasts with some riding experience. You have mastered gear shifting and braking control, and are able to clear obstacles by unweighting the bike, as well as ride up or down short, steep sections. Ideal for riders looking to improve their descending skills on singletrack trails that are rarely very steep but sometimes technical (rocks, roots, etc.) without being exposed, featuring daily elevation gains of 600 to 1,000 meters.
    Advanced
For mountain bikers who are already skilled descenders and confident in their technique. You are capable of navigating switchbacks, riding along off-camber trails without hesitation, controlling your braking, and clearing small obstacles (such as roots, rocks, and steps). The long, sustained descents—which increase in difficulty throughout the week—are sometimes steep, often technical, and occasionally exposed, though rarely dangerous. Expect daily elevation gains of between 800m and 1,400m.
    Expert
For experts and experienced, regular riders. You are capable of navigating switchbacks and off-camber trails, controlling your braking, and clearing obstacles such as roots, rocks, and steps. The descents are long and sustained—often steep, technical, and sometimes exposed. You are looking to challenge yourself with daily elevation changes of 1,400 to 2,000 meters.

The expert's opinion

This e-bike tour of Flores is designed for occasional mountain bikers looking for an authentic adventure in nature without sacrificing exploration for performance. Each day involves an average of 4 hours of cycling, including electric assistance, with frequent breaks to explore villages, beaches, and other must-see sites along the route. On the more demanding days—such as the climb to Kelimutu with its 1,783 meters of elevation gain or the 57.5 km ride to Bajawah—the electric assistance transforms the effort into pleasure, allowing everyone to enjoy the scenery without difficulty. The routes are mainly small roads and quiet paths, sometimes through dry countryside, with a few technical downhill sections requiring careful braking. The batteries are removable and interchangeable, recharged each evening, and offer a range of over 60 km. The bikes are serviced daily. A good level of general fitness is recommended. No prior experience with electric bikes is required — a hands-on training session is planned for the evening of arrival.

Management

The paper roadbook contains all the information directly in your bag.
Paper Roadbook

Your Flores adventure is organized as a self-guided tour with a printed roadbook. Upon arrival, you'll receive a complete and detailed roadbook including day-by-day maps, stage profiles, landmarks, and useful local contacts. You'll cycle at your own pace—approximately 4 hours per day—without the constraints of a group, free to stop whenever you like. A support vehicle follows the route to transport your luggage from accommodation to accommodation, provide water, and assist in case of any mechanical issues. The e-bikes are serviced every evening. The batteries are removable, interchangeable, and recharged daily, offering a range of over 100 km. The local team remains available at all times to answer your questions or adapt the program if conditions require it. This package guarantees you the complete freedom of an independent traveler with the safety net of an expert local organization.

Management

Security

The safety of participants is paramount in the organization of this trip. A support vehicle is present throughout the entire route, carrying spare parts and an additional bicycle for rapid intervention in case of breakdown or incident. The electric bicycles are serviced every evening, and the batteries are checked and recharged daily (range exceeding 100 km). Water is always available in the support vehicle. For the homestay accommodations, the team organizes the welcome and ensures comfort on site. It is strongly recommended to pack: sturdy walking shoes for treks, lightweight rain gear, warm clothing (some accommodations are at altitudes above 1,300 m), a flashlight, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Travel insurance including medical repatriation is essential before departure. In the event of a medical incident, the local team coordinates transfer to available hospital facilities in Maumere, Ende, or Labuan Bajo, depending on the group's location.

Note

The program itinerary is provided as a guide and may be adjusted locally by the tour team depending on weather conditions, road conditions, sea conditions, local logistical constraints, transport schedules, the group's physical condition, or any event beyond our control. Certain stages may be modified, shortened, reversed, or replaced with alternatives of equivalent quality to ensure safety, comfort, and the overall quality of the trip. The accommodations mentioned are indicative and may be replaced with establishments of a similar category depending on local availability. Travel times, distances, and durations may vary depending on conditions encountered on site. Activities at sea, treks, and certain remote sections remain particularly dependent on natural conditions and accessibility at the time of travel.
