The cycling trip went well, in a beautiful region. The phone app is essential because the paper itinerary contains a few errors (but remains very useful for its comments and photos). The bikes are well-equipped with panniers and baskets. However, the first disappointment was a night in a 3-star hotel when advertised as 4-star, with the spa requiring a reservation and fully booked by 5 pm. The ride takes a leisurely 5 hours, and the tasting scheduled for 3:30 pm would have required leaving at 10:30 am... but this wasn't mentioned to us. The bikes are heavy, and the storage areas in the two hotels are difficult to access in one and impossible in the other (stairs without handrails). Finally, half-board is unnecessary as the menus offered by the restaurants are their entry-level options (an indecent markup taken by the tour operator).
