In a few words

🐴 Explore the Alsatian mountains… on horseback!

For 7 days, explore the deep forests, green valleys, waterfalls and typical villages of the Vosges mountains on an unforgettable horseback riding trip, punctuated by the legends and stories of this land of character.

The Vosges Mountains are brimming with ancient tales that our guides invite you to discover on horseback, along forest trails and panoramic ridges. This equestrian trip is exclusively for experienced riders, comfortable at all three gaits, and offers a complete immersion in unspoiled nature, between local traditions and mythical atmospheres.

In the heart of an equestrian center perched at an altitude of 1,099 meters, you are welcomed into a warm and friendly atmosphere. The stables are home to approximately 70 horses of various breeds (Irish Cob, Icelandic, Thoroughbred, Fjord, etc.), carefully selected for their reliability and endurance on this varied terrain.

Each day, you set off to discover iconic landscapes: waterfalls of Alsace, menhirs of Verlorene Eck, Mont Saint-Odile or panoramas from the Neuntelstein.

Each evening, you return to your accommodation in the heart of the equestrian center, for shared meals featuring Alsatian specialties 🥨 and a well-deserved rest after wonderful days on horseback.

The highlights

  • Exceptional panoramas of the Vosges: waterfalls, forests, valleys & menhirs
  • A complete exploration of Alsatian natural and historical heritage
  • The meals are partly made with organic and local products.

Qualified equestrian tourism guides. Several breeds are represented among the horses. The Icelandic horse, a small horse with unique gaits and a particularly comfortable ride. The Irish Cob, originating from Ireland and England, is an excellent carriage and trail horse. Crossbreeding these two breeds produces the Island Cob: small horses with black or pinto coats that inherit the gentleness and sure-footedness of both breeds. The Fjord pony, a robust pony from Norway, is known for its calm temperament and sure-footedness. The Arabian horse, an endurance horse par excellence, and the Thoroughbred, master of the racetrack, will accompany experienced riders. The Pure Spanish Horse, renowned for its beauty and gaits, is also appreciated for its good temperament. Finally, Shetland ponies are available for rides for younger children. The horses are equipped with English tack, adapted to the needs of each animal.

We dreamed of a family horseback riding holiday, and it all came true thanks to Decathlon Travel. Everything was perfect: from the initial quote request and information to the final payment. It was all very straightforward. As for the holiday itself, it was wonderful: we returned from Alsace delighted and with only one thought: to come back as soon as possible. Thank you to "Cheval Alsace" for their warm welcome, their hospitality, and their kindness. We discovered a wonderful region and met some fantastic people. We will be back...
