This true high mountain journey will take you on high-altitude trails, crossing passes at nearly 3000m and discovering crystal-clear lakes nestled in magnificent landscapes.
At the pace of the horse, you will cross alpine pastures, forests and valleys where preserved alpine flora and fauna flourish.
Each stage reveals a new facet of this wild territory.

For those who are balanced and proficient at all three gaits. You must be able to spend the day engaged in an outdoor sporting activity (up to 6 hours a day). You ride regularly and hold a Galop 3/4 certification or an equivalent level.

Welcome, transfer from the station, meeting place then presentation of the hike and the horses, before leaving for the first valley of the Queyras: Ceillac, where we will spend a first convivial evening.
Day 1 -

After a hearty breakfast, we set off from Ceillac for the legendary Col Fromage, a must-see in the Queyras region. After a good climb, a breathtaking view unfolds before us, revealing the Écrins massif and the Col de l'Izoard. We then begin our descent towards St. Véran, alternating between narrow paths and forest tracks where cows and marmots await. Numerous fountains offer the chance to refresh horses and riders with pure, crystal-clear water. We arrive in St. Véran, the highest commune in Europe, where we will spend the night at an altitude of 2,040 meters. A visit to the village is a must, with its slate roofs, numerous wooden fountains, and sundials.

Starting from the village of St Véran, entire families of marmots will accompany us all along the way.
Passing very close to an old copper mine and in front of the Clausis chapel where the Queyras residents like to meet.
The landscape becomes lunar and the mountains begin to sparkle all the way to Lake Blanche, the border with Italy.
Ascent to the pass, the highest point of this majestic hike, where the horses touch the sky.
Descent to the Agnel refuge where we will spend the night in the company of the walkers.

Day 4 is Lakes Day, the most technical but also the most magical day; the mountains are something you have to earn…
Departure under the watchful eye of the famous Sugarloaf Mountain.
Discovery of the first lake and its crystal-clear waters.
Depending on the weather, we may even be able to see Mont Blanc and its eternal snows.
Next comes the second lake and its high mountain fishermen before descending back into the valley towards Ristolas and Abriès.
This is the day with the most pedestrian traffic.
We will be warmly welcomed by Dominique in a small hamlet above the village of Abriès for a convivial evening.

We will overlook the Ristolas valley and pass through Aiguilles, a typical Queyras village, before heading towards Souliers.

After climbing the pass, the horses will take us to Lake Souliers, below the Pic de Rochebrune which rises to over 3300m altitude.
Next, head towards the Casse Déserte below the Col de l'Izoard and then towards a small, wild canyon, western style with its fairy chimneys.
Descent towards Brunissard.
Depending on desires and the weather, afternoon rest and/or visits (Queyras Castle, crafts …..).
Night in Brunissard at the campsite, under large tents with beds.

To conclude this superb hike, we will pass by the chalets and lakes of Clapeyto, yet another sumptuous landscape to finish in style, before reaching the valley and returning to reality.
Return expected around 4:30–5:00 PM.
