An early start to visit the weekly market in Dong Van, where every Sunday, villagers from the surrounding area come to buy and sell a variety of goods: fruits, vegetables, alcohol, livestock, clothing, and more. The market is also a place where people share gossip, where singles try their luck at flirting, and where people simply come to stroll. For the occasion, ethnic minorities (Hmong, Dao, Tay, etc.) dress in their finest traditional costumes. This colorful market, located off the beaten tourist track, retains all its authenticity. After visiting the market, we have breakfast, then set off on a beautiful hike on the Dong Van karst plateau. Our path follows the side of a karst cliff overlooking the impressive Nho Que Gorge. The view of the surrounding mountains is simply breathtaking. On this infertile land, the Hmong people use the steep mountain slopes to cultivate maize. At the end of the hike, we get back in our vehicle and continue our journey to Meo Vac along the spectacular "Happiness Road." Carved into the cliff face, the road overlooks the waters of the Nho Que River, nestled in a deep gorge. We are certainly driving on one of the most beautiful roads in Vietnam. Then, following the Gam River, we arrive in Bao Lac, the land of the Black Lolo people. We spend the night there in accommodation run by a Black Lolo family.
** Depending on the departure days, we may be able to attend a market other than the one in Dong Van.
