The enchanting atmosphere of the desert
After Petra, we think that nothing can equal this, but that is not the case, and Wadi Rum will prove it to us: a fascinating desert where the sand changes from red to pink to ochre, and where the rock of the mountains seems almost to melt in the sun.
Once we arrive at the visitor center, we'll transfer from the minibus to a jeep and be ready to explore this incredible natural area. A wonderful 4-hour excursion in a 4x4 jeep awaits us, taking us to discover the most characteristic spots in this rocky desert. The Um Fruth Bridge, a rock bridge suspended in the heart of the desert, is a must-see.
After a quick lunch, the choice is ours: relaxation or a desert hike? We suggest the Rakhabat Canyon, a route that starts from the village of Wadi Musa and continues with a climb to a series of rocky slabs offering fabulous views of Wadi Rum and Jebel Rum. It takes about 2 to 3 hours to cross the canyon, and the hike, while optional, is quite strenuous.
After so much effort, let's treat ourselves to an unforgettable night: an authentic Bedouin dinner inside the tent camp under a sky full of stars.
