Little explorers of Cape Verde: a family trip

After a short transfer to the port, you embark on a ferry crossing of approximately 1 hour to Santo Antão — an already exciting experience for children.

Upon arrival, a scenic drive of approximately 45 minutes takes you to the magnificent Paul Valley, a veritable lush garden of Cape Verde.

The day is devoted to an accessible hike (2.5 to 3 hours, mostly downhill), through green landscapes, between terraced crops, villages and streams.

After the walk, your guide will explain the process of making grogue (local rum). Parents can enjoy a tasting, while children discover sugarcane molasses.

At the end of the day, transfer to your accommodation with a swimming pool located in Ribeira Grande, for a well-deserved moment of relaxation.

After breakfast, the day begins gently with a short transfer (approximately 10 minutes) to the Forrador farm. The whole family participates in a friendly cooking workshop, where young and old alike discover local flavors.

The program includes preparing the traditional Cape Verdean dish, cachupa , making papaya jam, tasting goat cheese, and discovering local fruits such as papaya and coconut. The children love tasting fresh coconut water, straight from the coconut tree.

At the farm, you can also enjoy a small pool to cool off while waiting for lunch, which is shared simply with the local family.

After lunch, head towards the hilltop villages of Fontainhas and Ponta do Sol . An easy walk (approximately 1 hour) offers spectacular views between the mountains and the ocean. Return to the same accommodation for the night for added comfort.

After a short transfer (approximately 15 minutes), you reach the agricultural region of Chã de Pedras, in the heart of the rural landscapes of the island.

The morning is dedicated to a donkey ride (approximately 2 hours), a fun and unique activity that children love. A gentle and authentic way to discover the valley, at nature's pace.

At midday, you share a lunch with a local family, a simple and warm moment to discover the local cuisine and the Cape Verdean way of life.

In the afternoon, return to your accommodation to enjoy a relaxing moment and a third night in this peaceful setting.

After breakfast and with luggage packed, departure for a day full of discoveries through the spectacular landscapes of Santo Antão.

You reach the Ribeira da Torre valley, one of the greenest on the island. An easy walk takes you to the magnificent Vinha waterfall, with the possibility of swimming in an exceptional natural setting.

You then continue by vehicle along the spectacular Corda Road, offering breathtaking panoramas. Stops are planned to enjoy the scenery and take photos. Depending on the time available, there may be an opportunity for an easy walk around the Cova crater, an impressive site that fascinates visitors of all ages.

At the end of the day, return by ferry (approximately 1 hour) to São Vicente, then transfer to your hotel in Mindelo for a relaxing evening.

After a short transfer (approximately 20 minutes), you will reach the seaside village of São Pedro.

The morning begins with an authentic experience: a traditional fishing session (approximately 2 hours). The children actively participate, discover local techniques, and enjoy a fun and enriching experience.

Then comes one of the highlights of the trip: the encounter with the turtles.

You will have the opportunity to swim with them for about 1 hour, in calm water and under the supervision of experienced guides, a magical and unforgettable experience for the whole family.

The afternoon is free to enjoy the beach, relax or simply savor the moment, before returning to Mindelo at the end of the day.

This day is left free to enjoy Mindelo at your own pace, according to your desires.

You can relax on the beautiful Laginha Beach, ideal for families, or stroll through the colorful streets of the town, between local markets, artisan shops and a musical atmosphere.
