In a few words

Experience a unique immersion in the heart of the Pyrenees on an exceptional horseback riding excursion . Your adventure begins in Camurac , an authentic village perched at 1300 meters altitude, the gateway to the wild Plateau d'Aillou . At your horse's pace, you'll first enjoy vast green spaces with a high-mountain atmosphere, before venturing onto more secluded and rugged trails.

The journey takes on the feel of faraway lands as you cross the Donezan , a preserved valley in the Ariège region whose wooded landscapes are reminiscent of the Canadian Rockies. Following the streams, the route gradually climbs above 2000 meters to explore the high Catalan plateau .

You will then ride through the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees Regional Natural Park and discover the stark, mineral atmosphere of the Carlit Desert , very close to the Spanish and Andorran borders. This journey, offering magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, ends with a spectacular descent to the village of Porté-Puymorens . Each evening, the comfort of the selected guesthouses and mountain huts guarantees you moments of warm and well-deserved rest.

The highlights

  • An extraordinary diversity of mountains between oceanic and Mediterranean influences
  • A gradual ascent in very high mountains with several days above 2000m
  • The journey through the heart of the Carlit desert, where the wildlife and flora are exceptional.
