Hiking in the heart of the temples of Angkor and Siem Reap

Explore Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire, including the Bayon, famous for its many towers adorned with sculpted faces bearing the enigmatic smile of Angkor. Continue to the Baphuon, an 11th-century temple-mountain dedicated to Shiva, offering a remarkable view of the ancient royal city. Proceed to Phimeanakas, located within the Royal Palace complex, then visit Baksei Chamkrong. Stroll along the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, richly decorated with bas-reliefs. The tour continues with Ta Prohm, one of the most iconic temples, overgrown by jungle and embraced by impressive tree roots.

In the afternoon, visit Angkor Wat, a masterpiece of Khmer architecture and a symbol of Cambodia, renowned for its galleries, detailed bas-reliefs and five majestic towers representing Mount Meru.

To get a glimpse of authentic rural life in the serene Cambodian countryside, we travel to the village of Kompheim. Meaning "ladybug" in Khmer, this sleepy community is located 16 km from Siem Reap. The surrounding landscape, composed of lush and fertile rice paddies, lies near Tonlé Sap Lake. The itinerary includes a short walk, during which the guide points out interesting sights. We then stop at a local tree nursery where we can purchase a fruit tree for a host family. Once at the host family's home, we can plant the tree and spend time chatting with them. Depending on the time of year, we can participate in activities such as weaving or planting rice. We then visit another local family for a delicious Khmer lunch. After soaking up the local atmosphere and enjoying authentic cuisine, we return to your hotel with the rest of the day at leisure.

Visit to the temples of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samré.

Banteay Srei, dating from the 10th century and well preserved, is famous for its pink sandstone walls adorned with sculptures of apsaras.

Banteay Samre is a ^12th century Hindu temple built in the style of Angkor Wat.

Note: During the visit to the temple of Banteay Srei, visitors must cover their shoulders and wear long pants or a long skirt out of respect for this sacred site.

On the return, visit a pagoda and taste fresh coconut juice in a traditional wooden house.

A visit to Beng Mealea: Lost in the jungle, the little-explored temple of Beng Mealea (11th century) awaits rediscovery by adventurous travelers. This sprawling jungle temple, covering more than a square kilometer and largely overgrown with vegetation, may have served as a prototype for the construction of Angkor Wat.

Take a private wooden boat trip on Tonlé Sap Lake to discover the floating villages and the traditional life of their inhabitants. Tens of thousands of people live there, on floating houses, and all activities revolve around fishing.
