In a few words

Discover an exceptional route in the heart of Burgundy, linking two important sites of spirituality and history. Your adventure begins at the majestic church of Vézelay , a jewel of Romanesque art listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site , before heading from northwest to southeast into the Morvan Regional Natural Park .

This granite massif, considered the vanguard of the Massif Central, captivates with its dense woodland and intricate network of waterways, alternating between artificial lakes and wild rivers. As you hike towards Haut Folin , its highest point at 901 meters, you will traverse rolling landscapes where green meadows and dense forests meet fascinating Celtic and Gallo-Roman remains , particularly around Mont Beuvray .

The rest of the route takes you through the gentle landscapes of Burgundy's wine country , between the charming Dheune Valley and the tranquil banks of the canal. Finally, the numerous Romanesque buildings that dot the end of the route herald a magnificent arrival in Cluny , famous for its immense abbey church, a listed historical monument . A truly rejuvenating experience blending unspoiled nature with centuries-old cultural richness.

The highlights

  • An immersion between Romanesque basilicas and historic villages of Burgundy.
  • A discovery of the landscapes of the Morvan to the vineyards of Clunisois.
  • An exploration of the Burgundian art of living and its gastronomy.
