Educational tour of Phnom Penh – Battambang – Siem Reap

Discover life in the capital aboard a cyclo and explore Phnom Penh while learning more about traditional arts and the work of organizations committed to fighting poverty.

After breakfast, depart for a cyclo tour through the bustling capital. Highlights include the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, the National Museum, and Wat Phnom, an ancient temple located on a hill.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the Champey Academy of Arts, a non-profit school offering training in traditional Cambodian arts.

Continue to PSE (Pour un Sourire d'Enfant - For a Child's Smile) to discover its social work. The organization provides education and protection to the most disadvantaged children. Guided tour of the center including the infirmary, the sewing workshop, and the hospitality school.

Dinner at your leisure.

Note: Appropriate attire covering shoulders and knees is required for visiting the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda.

Night in Phnom Penh.

After breakfast, departure for the quiet town of Battambang (approximately 5.5 hours drive / 291 km).

The route crosses vast rice paddies, farmland, and traditional stilt villages. Along the way, a stop is made in a rural village in Kampong Chhnang province, renowned for its pottery, to observe local life.

Lunch en route at a local restaurant.

Upon arrival, check into the hotel and then visit the city center, renowned for its preserved colonial architecture.

Night in Battambang.

After breakfast, transfer to the bamboo train station for a unique experience.

Continue to the village of Wat Kor to meet the owners of a traditional Khmer house dating from the 1920s and discover its history.

Exploring the surrounding countryside and local villages: meeting with artisans (sculptors, rice wine makers, noodles and rice cakes).

Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit to Phare Ponleu Selpak, an association supporting the artistic education of children and young people.

Ascent of Phnom Banan temple (337 steps) with panoramic view.

At the end of the day, we headed to Mount Sampov to observe the spectacular flight of thousands of bats at sunset.

Note: Maximum 4 people per bamboo train. Some activities are seasonal. The Phare school is closed on weekends and public holidays.

Night in Battambang.

After breakfast, departure for Siem Reap (approximately 4 hours / 180 km).

Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and lunch. Free time to relax.

Around 4pm, panoramic tour of the city with a stop at Theam's Gallery, a traditional house transformed into an art gallery by Lim Muy Theam.

Night in Siem Reap.

A day dedicated to discovering the temples of Angkor by tuk-tuk.

Departure through the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the ancient capital of the Khmer Empire built in the 12th century. Visit to the Bayon with its sculpted faces, the Royal Enclosure, the Phimeanakas temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King.

After lunch, visit the Ta Prohm temple invaded by roots, then discover the majestic Angkor Wat, a 12th-century masterpiece and symbol of Cambodia.

Dinner at your leisure.

Note: Appropriate attire is required at religious sites (shoulders and knees must be covered). The guide and transportation are available until 9 pm.

Night in Siem Reap.

After breakfast, departure for the Lum Orng farm for a Cambodian cooking class.

Visit to a local market to select fresh ingredients followed by participation in a cooking workshop. Tasting of the prepared dishes.

Transfer to Siem Reap International Airport for your departure flight.

End of the journey.
