In a few words

Riddled by the relentless waves, the Crozon peninsula is prized for its stunning landscapes and is one of the best-preserved nature reserves in southern Brittany: the scenery is breathtaking. The island of Ouessant adds another layer of remote, end-of-the-world charm to this journey. The Crozon peninsula, at the westernmost tip of Brittany, boasts breathtaking scenery: the cliffs of Cap de la Chèvre and Pointe de Pen Hir give way to the long beaches of Morgat and La Palue. From the charming port of Camaret, where you will stay, the boat crosses the Molène archipelago to disembark at Ouessant, the sentinel island, before venturing out to sea. From April to June and from September to October, the itinerary is adapted to the boat schedules, with a slightly different schedule (the hikes will remain the same).

The highlights

  • The stunning cliffs of the Crozon peninsula.
  • Beautiful hikes at the tip of Brittany.
  • All sea crossings included.

The organization was very clear from the start. We quickly received the documents and information about the different stages and accommodations. We stayed in three very comfortable hotels. The hikes were interesting and challenging. Since we weren't in a group, we were able to take some liberties with the routes. I recommend Decathlon Travel.

Overall, we were satisfied with our trek on the Crozon peninsula. The hotels were well-chosen, the location excellent, and the services were good (it's a shame we couldn't stay at the hotel we had booked in Camaret). We had some difficulty finding the starting point of the hike at Cap de la Chèvre. (Replace "cross the parking lot" with "walk alongside the parking lot and continue along the gravel roadside, continuing past the Odalys residence until..."). A relaxing day halfway through would have been welcome, but otherwise, everything was perfectly organized. We would do it again in other destinations.

A relaxing day halfway through the trip would have been welcome, but otherwise everything was perfectly organized. We'd like to repeat the experience and travel to other destinations.

I chose a less "sporty" trip, as it was a 5-day solo hike, completely independent. It was well-organized and well-balanced. I found it a bit expensive compared to what I could have organized on my own. But obviously, it was easier and very reassuring. I felt the route descriptions sometimes seemed like they were copied and pasted rather than written by someone who had actually done the hike. For example, my starting point was listed as Camaret, even though I was leaving from Brest. But that's not a big deal for me, as I like to be surprised. The taxis were very efficient and reliable. Of course, the scenery is magnificent, and I was in great shape! ;-) A small suggestion, perhaps: I was traveling alone and realized on the ferry back that someone else was doing the same trip. We might have spoken beforehand if we had known. Or maybe not.

I spent six fantastic days hiking solo, exploring the island of Ouessant and the Crozon Peninsula. The organization by Decathlon Travel was top-notch. Everything went without a hitch. Their travel guide was clear and suitable for someone new to hiking. I'll definitely do it again!
