Cycling tour – Ha Giang northern loop – 6 days

Your cycling adventure begins today. After breakfast, you'll pedal towards the northeast of Ha Giang province, a still relatively undiscovered region where many roads remain untouched and the landscapes have been preserved much as they once were. You'll ride alongside the reservoir through the mountains, sometimes with gradients of up to 20%, before reaching the magnificent valley of Lung Tam commune. Isolated from the rest of the world, this region is like an oasis, barely touched by tourists.

We will continue along an easier, paved road before meeting our bus for the transfer to Yen Minh.

You will travel along National Route 4, which is well-paved. The gradients do not exceed 10%, and the views are spectacular. Along the way, you will stop at the home of Vuong Chi Sinh, considered the “king” by the H'mong people, where his family still resides. This house reflects the typical architecture of the White H'mong, who prefer to live in very clean houses surrounded by carefully hand-built stone fences.

You will then cross the “Heaven’s Gate” pass to reach the town of Dong Van, whose central market is located in an almost century-old building in the early 20th century Vietnamese architectural style.

After lunch, you'll take a short stroll through the old quarter of Dong Van before continuing on to Meo Vac. The last 20 kilometers follow the Ma Pi Leng Pass – the most spectacular road ever built in Vietnam. From here, you can admire towering cliffs and glimpse the Nho Que River as a thin ribbon at the bottom of the gorge.

An early start for those who wish to discover a unique facet of Vietnam's ethnic groups: their weekly markets. After breakfast at the hotel and a visit to the market, your vehicle will take you 40 km to Mau Due, where you will begin the longest cycling stage — approximately 90 km on a winding, unpaved mountain road, built by the Vietnamese army during the war against China, and which has remained untouched for over 30 years.

The landscapes and local culture here retain all their authenticity, and you will encounter many ethnic hill tribes typical of Northeast Vietnam. You will end your journey in Na Sa, then take a bus to Ha Giang, where you will spend the night.
