This day marks the beginning of your independent immersion. Before setting off, you will discover the essential principles of food management and preservation in a natural environment. You will learn to identify certain food safety risks and apply simple preservation methods such as drying, salting, and smoking.
The group then prepares the necessary equipment for the departure to the bivouac site: organizing the bags, distributing the food, and planning the route. Throughout the journey, the participants are guided to learn how to observe and understand the terrain.
Once there, everyone actively participates in setting up camp and organizing outdoor life. With step-by-step guidance, you'll learn how to pitch a bivouac, light a fire, build a simple shelter, and create a safe living area. Depending on conditions and opportunities, activities like fishing or foraging may also be offered.
The day continues with the making of useful equipment from available resources: cooking supports, suspenders, grilling skewers or even the installation of a small smoking area for preserving food.
The evening unfolds around a campfire before a night spent in the wilderness, in shelters built by the participants, under the constant supervision of the leader. Tents remain available if needed to ensure everyone's comfort and safety.
