    Mountaineering

    Beginner
Mountaineering is a demanding sport; consequently, there is no "beginner" physical level for it. If you have never mountaineered before, you can aim for an intermediate or advanced level.
    Intermediate
For fit hikers who wish to experience the high mountains. No specific mountaineering skills are required; the crampon work is straightforward. Guides are on hand to provide instruction and ensure your safety. The daily elevation gain generally ranges from 700 to a maximum of 1,000 meters.
    Confirmed
For those who engage in endurance or mountain sports (running, cycling, trail running, rock climbing, trekking, etc.) three or more times a week. You are capable of hiking for long hours in the mountains and ascending around 1,500 meters in a single day. Ideally, you have some prior high-altitude experience (such as walking in crampons), though this is not essential if you are in excellent physical condition. To aid acclimatization, it is recommended to go mountain hiking in the days leading up to the trip.
    Advanced
For those who regularly practice endurance or mountain sports (running, cycling, trail running, rock climbing, trekking, etc.)—at least four times a week. You are capable of hiking for over eight hours in the mountains and ascending between 1,500 and 2,000 vertical meters in a single day. You have mastered crampon techniques. Prior mountaineering experience (ascents or ice training) is mandatory.
    Expert
For those in excellent physical condition who regularly engage in mountain activities (rock climbing, mountaineering, ice climbing, etc.): you have mastered mountaineering techniques and are capable of undertaking climbs rated D or higher.

With years of experience, your certified guide, passionate about high-altitude environments, will accompany you. Attentive, rigorous, and dedicated, he will prioritize safety and the human element on every outing . For him, each climb is a shared adventure, an opportunity to share knowledge and build confidence. A skilled instructor, he will adapt the routes to suit each individual's level and goals.

He favors experiences where progress rhymes with pleasure, pushing boundaries, and connecting with nature . With him, every outing becomes a powerful moment… to be fully experienced.

For the ascent of Mont Blanc from day 4 to day 6, a guide is provided for 2 participants.

Management

Security

Your guide may need to modify the program depending on the weather conditions in the mountains in order to ensure your safety.

The success rate for climbing Mont Blanc with a guide is around 70%. Most failures are due to the weather. It's important to know that above 4,000 meters, wind or bad weather often makes the ascent impossible or too dangerous. We strive to anticipate these factors as best we can and make the best decisions to help you reach the summit.

In all cases, our priority will always be safety. The high-mountain guide accompanying you knows Mont Blanc perfectly and will be best placed to assess the feasibility of the ascent. As a last resort, they will make the decision to continue or not. For this course, we confirm the possibility of attempting the climb three days before departure. However, it is possible that the weather may ultimately be different from what was forecast (a frequent occurrence in Chamonix). In this case, the guide may still decide to modify the program or cancel the attempt on the morning of departure.

Note

Above 4,000 meters, wind or bad weather often makes the ascent impossible or too dangerous. We try to anticipate these factors as best we can and make the best decisions to help you reach the summit. The high-mountain guide accompanying you knows Mont Blanc intimately and will be best placed to assess the feasibility of the climb . As a last resort, they will decide whether or not to continue the ascent. For this course, we confirm the possibility of attempting the climb three days before departure. However, it is possible that the weather may ultimately be different from what was forecast (a frequent occurrence in Chamonix). In this case, the guide may still decide to modify the program or cancel the attempt on the morning of departure.

Since the summer of 2021, all reservations at the mountain huts on the normal route of Mont Blanc (Tête Rousse Hut and Goûter Hut) are mandatory and non-transferable for the ascent. Reservations open at the end of the year for the following summer. Therefore, we register participants subject to availability at the Tête Rousse and Goûter Huts when their reservations open.

The climb was an amazing experience, and we were incredibly lucky with the conditions. The initial acclimatization section was perfect for beginners to learn the basics, and for those with more experience to practice rappelling. Didier was fantastic! For the ascent itself, I was with Xavier, who was very supportive and professional. We reached the summit without any problems! It was magical to reach the roof of Europe and be rewarded with that view!

A fantastic trip with exceptional conditions. The organization was excellent, and we had wonderful guides with whom we shared a lot and from whom we learned a great deal. The program is easily achievable, but you do need to be in good physical condition and remain very focused. Lunches on days 2, 3, and 4 weren't very substantial and could have been improved. Also, be aware that you might end up with a non-French-speaking guide, which can completely change your perception of the trip! The rest day in Chamonix allows you to meet with the guide and do some shopping for more suitable equipment, which is a big plus. You can also bring a lot of equipment and, following the guide's advice, leave the unnecessary gear in your vehicles.
