As part of our ongoing commitment to improvement, we’re here to answer your questions and hear your thoughts—whether positive or negative. We will review them with the utmost care and, if necessary, strive to provide the most transparent response possible. We therefore invite you to speak up and share your opinion, in accordance with our Terms of Use.


These Terms of Use apply to all Users of Decathlon Travel customer reviews on the review platform operated by DECATHLON EXPERIENCE SAS, registered with the Annecy Trade and Companies Register under number 883 875 411 and whose registered office is located at 6 rue des Bouvières, 74940 Annecy-le-Vieux; hereinafter referred to as DECATHLON TRAVEL.

Users of DECATHLON TRAVEL reviews agree to comply with these terms and conditions and declare that they accept them in their entirety.


What is our terminology?


DECATHLON: This refers to all companies that are directly or indirectly owned by DECATHLON SE and that may be involved in the collection and/or moderation and/or publication and/or analysis and/or use of Decathlon Customer Reviews.

DECATHLON TRAVEL: This is a subsidiary of DECATHLON SE.

Decathlon Travel Customer Review: This refers to a customer review used by the various DECATHLON brands (Decathlon stores, Decathlon City, Decathlon Essentiel, etc.) and/or its various partners (e.g., Alltricks) on various platforms (website, advertising materials, in-store displays, etc.), after having undergone the Decathlon review moderation process.

“Review originally posted on [name of original posting site]”: This is a note included in a review that was originally posted on a site other than decathlontravel.com and its international counterparts (e.g., decathlon.co.uk). The original site may belong to a subsidiary, partner, or supplier offering the same product or service. The rules for publishing these reviews are the same as for other Decathlon Travel customer reviews.

Experience or Activity: This refers to a sports experience (e.g., hiking, sports coaching session) offered by DECATHLON or one of its partners, which is the subject of a customer review.

Trip: This refers to a sports trip offered by DECATHLON TRAVEL or one of its partners.



What is the purpose of reviews?


DECATHLON TRAVEL reviews allow:

DECATHLON TRAVEL travelers to share their feedback. They then become Review Authors (hereinafter “the Author(s)”)

Internet users to choose their trips more easily by consulting reviews on various publishing platforms

DECATHLON teams to highlight the trips sold by DECATHLON TRAVEL

DECATHLON TRAVEL teams to improve the trips they sell to ensure user satisfaction.

to enable DECATHLON TRAVEL teams to personalize their relationship with Users by analyzing reviews

to enable DECATHLON TRAVEL teams to engage with Reviewers following their reviews

What is the review process?


At DECATHLON TRAVEL, the review process is controlled.


It consists of 5 steps:

Collection: DECATHLON TRAVEL provides a free service that allows Users to share their experiences via a questionnaire sent upon their return from the trip.


Moderation: DECATHLON TRAVEL ensures, both before and after publication, that reviews meet the requirements outlined below in order to comply with applicable rules.


Publication: DECATHLON TRAVEL makes the reviews available on all platforms listed below to best assist those interested in these trips, particularly online users.

Reviews will be published on www.decathlontravel.com without any modification or selection by DECATHLON TRAVEL, provided they comply with our rules of publication,to use your review in the marketing and promotion of the product to which it relates. The review will be published on www.decathlontravel.com. It may also appear in any medium and format, including social media and communication channels of DECATHLON TRAVEL, its partners, or DECATHLON (e.g., website, in-store screens). It may also be published on other websites or platforms where the product is marketed or featured.


Analysis: DECATHLON TRAVEL analyzes reviews to improve its trips and the overall experience (booking, partner relationships, website, etc.).


Response: DECATHLON TRAVEL may respond to reviewers following their reviews; these responses may also be published on the website to help other users make their choices.


Who can submit a review?


Only Users who have booked a trip through DECATHLON TRAVEL are authorized to submit a review.

How do I submit a review?


Upon returning from their trip, travelers are asked via email to complete a satisfaction survey.


This questionnaire includes several questions:

A star rating system (1 to 5) to give an overall rating for your trip, the destination, and the sport you participated in. (This question is required.)

Your satisfaction with the local agency that organized the trip, rated from “Very dissatisfied” to “Very satisfied,” with the option to provide a comment on your response. (This question is required.)

Your likelihood of recommending Decathlon Travel to your friends and family on a scale of 0 to 10, where 0 means “Very unlikely” and 10 means “Very likely.” (This question is required.)

The option to leave a review in a free-text field. (This question is optional.)

The option to add up to 5 photos to illustrate your review. (This question is optional.)

The option to grant us a license to use your photos in our communications (this question is optional and applies only if you add photos in response to the previous question).

Your perception of DECATHLON TRAVEL’s commitment to responsible tourism, rated from “Very dissatisfied” to “Very satisfied,” with the option to comment on your response. (This question is required)




When the Author completes this questionnaire, the information is automatically linked to the Author’s profile. Names and email addresses are neither visible nor accessible to other users; this information allows the DECATHLON TRAVEL teams to communicate with the Author.


The comment can be written freely. It must be written by the Author, who agrees not to copy or reproduce the writings of a third party. To ensure the review is as relevant as possible, we recommend explaining the travel conditions, what needs improvement, and what you particularly appreciated. You may also suggest ideas for improvement. The review may require a minimum number of characters.


By completing the questionnaire, you authorize DECATHLON TRAVEL to publish your review of the local agency, the destination, and the sport you participated in.


How are reviews moderated?


The purpose of moderation is to ensure that reviews comply with these terms and conditions.


For each review written by travelers:

  1. If the review complies with the rules, it will be published as is on the relevant page, without any changes to its form or content, except that the name of the local business will be anonymized with “***¨” if it is mentioned.
  2. It will be moderated by the DECATHLON TRAVEL quality assurance team (excluding weekends and holidays), which will ensure that it complies with our publication guidelines. The time it takes for a review to be published may vary.
  3. In the event of non-compliance, the DECATHLON TRAVEL quality assurance team will notify the author directly and give them the opportunity to edit their review.
  4. The published review will display the author’s first name, the date the review was submitted, the overall rating given to the trip, and the month in which the author participated in the tour, as well as the type of travel (alone, as a couple, with friends, as part of a group, or with family).
  5. If the Author added photos to their review when completing the form, these photos will also be displayed alongside the review.
  6. All or part of the review may be reproduced for use in any medium and format, including the website www.decathlontravel.com, social media, and the communication channels of DECATHLON TRAVEL, its partners, or DECATHLON (for example: website, in-store displays). It may also be published on other websites or platforms where the product will be marketed or featured. If the Author gave permission when submitting the review, the photos will be included with the review when it is republished. That is, if the Author answered “Yes” to the question “Our travelers’ photos are often excellent—do you authorize us to use them in our communication materials? (Social media, product pages, etc.) (No photos that identify individuals will be used; only landscapes or photos taken from behind). Otherwise, the review will be used without the attached photos.
  7. DECATHLON TRAVEL reserves the right to respond to questions and comments addressed to it below the relevant review and to publish that response.
  8. By submitting a review, the Author grants DECATHLON TRAVEL a non-exclusive, royalty-free, and transferable license to the content of that review, valid worldwide for a period of ten years. This license allows DECATHLON TRAVEL to use, reproduce, publish, translate, and distribute the review in any medium, as detailed in this policy. However, if the Author wishes to remove the review, they may contact customer service at any time. (See the “Liability” section of these terms and conditions.)
  9. Individuals who did not participate in the trip in question are not authorized to write a review. The questionnaire for submitting a review is sent only to travelers who booked through DECATHLON TRAVEL and have returned from their trip. The questionnaire is always linked to a specific booking, and there cannot be multiple questionnaires for the same booking.
  10. Reviews will be displayed in reverse chronological order.
  11. DECATHLON TRAVEL will not provide any compensation in exchange for a review, whether positive or negative.

Rules for Posting Reviews


The reasons for moderating a review are as follows:

  1. Comments that are abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, obscene, offensive, violent, or unintelligible.
  2. Reviews that do not pertain to the trip taken.
  3. Reviews whose content could be considered spam or that include hyperlinks: for example, the review is posted multiple times or from different accounts.
  4. Reviews posted before a substantial change was made to the tour.
  5. Reviews that do not ensure the anonymity of other travelers, Decathlon Travel staff, and our local partners.
  6. Reviews containing any data that allows for the direct or indirect identification of a natural or legal person who has not granted the review author permission to use their image, including well-known public figures (email addresses, phone numbers, and private mailing addresses).
  7. Reviews of an advertising and/or commercial nature, such as references to another website or brand.
  8. Reviews that infringe on the intellectual property rights of third parties (such as mentioning a brand name or the name of a professional athlete, for example).
  9. Reviews related to a case in which Decathlon Travel or the traveler is currently involved in legal proceedings, or that call for legal action.
  10. The review consists solely of a traveler’s question without a description of their experience.
  11. The review contains too many spelling errors, poor syntax, or symbols that hinder readability or comprehension.
  12. The review shows a glaring inconsistency between the rating and the comment.
  13. The review violates the law or regulations.
  14. The attributes of the submitted review contain elements of a conflict of interest.
  15. There is legitimate doubt regarding the authenticity of the review.
  16. The review is submitted in a language other than that of the website or the form being used.
  17. The review may infringe on the intellectual property rights of third parties.


No reviews will be modified. If a review does not meet the publication requirements, DECATHLON TRAVEL will contact the author directly to explain the reasons for rejecting the review.


In the event of non-compliance with any of the provisions of this document, the author will receive an email informing them that their review cannot be approved as is, stating the reasons for non-publication, and providing a link to revise the review. The revised review, once resubmitted by the author, will once again be subject to the moderation process.

How will the reviews be published?


After moderation, the review is published on the website www.decathlontravel.com. It may also appear in any medium and format, including social media and the communication channels of DECATHLON TRAVEL, its partners, or DECATHLON (for example: website, in-store screens). It may also be published on other websites or platforms where the product will be sold or promoted.


The Author acknowledges that, for technical reasons, the publication of their review on the aforementioned websites may take more than 10 business days.


The overall rating is the arithmetic mean of the ratings from all reviews published for the same trip.


DECATHLON TRAVEL allows only travelers who have returned from their trip to post reviews. All reviews therefore include the label “verified traveler,” which confirms that the author actually traveled with Decathlon Travel.


Published reviews will be removed in any of the following cases:

The trip is no longer offered by the DECATHLON TRAVEL website.

The trip has been modified to such an extent that the review is no longer relevant to the trip being offered.

It is determined, after the fact, that the published review does not comply with these terms and conditions and/or applicable regulations.


Reviews posted on other platforms (external reviews) for the same trip may also be published on the DECATHLON TRAVEL website. Before publication, these external reviews are moderated according to the same rules as any other review to ensure they comply with these terms of publication. These external reviews are displayed with the notation “Review provided by [name of the original posting site].”



What actions are taken following the publication of the notices?


The Author acknowledges that his or her review is public and grants DECATHLON TRAVEL the right to use, store, publish, translate, create derivative works, analyze, exploit, distribute, and display the content, in its entirety or in part, of the review within the scope of any intellectual property rights protection to which it may be entitled, and to use the first name or username provided with the review for any commercial or advertising purposes.


This applies to all media, including the Internet, direct mail (print and/or online), posters, signage, point-of-sale advertisements, flyers, advertisements, magazines, television and radio broadcasts, and similar media, worldwide, for a period of 10 years. This explicitly includes posting on websites or platforms outside of DECATHLON TRAVEL and DECATHLON where the reviewed trip is advertised and/or sold.

If the Author gave permission when submitting the review, the photos will be included with the review when it is republished. That is, if the Author answered “Yes” to the question “Our travelers’ photos are often excellent—do you authorize us to use them in our communications? (Social media, product pages, etc.) (No photos that identify individuals will be used; only landscapes or photos taken from behind.) Otherwise, the review will be published without the attached photos.


DECATHLON TRAVEL may use elements of the Review (e.g., ratings, comments) to personalize its relationship with the User and, for example, tailor interactions and navigation on the website or suggest relevant products or services.


The Author agrees that DECATHLON TRAVEL or one of its partners has the right to respond following the publication of the review. This response will either be made public or sent solely to the Author.


Once published, the Author cannot edit their review. If they wish, they may request that it be removed by writing to:

Responsabilites


Submitted reviews will be anonymized after 3 years. To improve its travel offerings, DECATHLON TRAVEL will retain reviews for up to 10 years.

When a review is published, only the first name and photos will be displayed.

In accordance with certain legal provisions, DECATHLON EXPÉRIENCE SAS may be subject to an obligation to disclose the authors’ identifying information (particularly following a court order).

Amendment to the Charter


DECATHLON TRAVEL reserves the right to amend or modify these terms and conditions at any time and to notify reviewers whose reviews are less than 3 years old of any changes made.

By submitting a review, the Author declares that they have read and accepted the associated rights and obligations.

This Policy takes effect upon publication and immediately supersedes the previous Terms and Conditions for all future transactions.
