In a few words
Embark on a three-day sea kayaking adventure between Houat and Hoëdic , in the heart of one of the most beautiful island landscapes in Brittany.
Accompanied by an experienced guide , you'll navigate at the pace of the group, the weather, and the currents, between wild beaches, secluded coves, turquoise waters, and rocky coastlines. A unique way to discover the islands from the sea, far from the usual tourist routes.
Keep your eyes peeled along the way: seabirds and sometimes dolphins and seals may punctuate the adventure.
After sailing, it's time for camp life : setting up camp, preparing meals, and sharing moments in a simple and friendly atmosphere . As night falls, enjoy the tranquility of the islands , the starry sky, and the light of the distant lighthouses.
More than just a kayak trip, this journey is a true micro-adventure : three days to disconnect , live to the rhythm of the sea and discover the islands of Houat and Hoëdic in a different way.
Departure dates can be adjusted upon request depending on the size of your group.

Access
The sea crossing to the island of Houat:
You can reach Houat from the Quiberon maritime station (Port-Maria) or, in season and depending on the day, from Port-Navalo.
- From Quiberon: BreizhGo Océane provides the connection all year round, with a crossing of approximately 40 minutes .
- From Port-Navalo: seasonal companies, notably Vedettes du Golfe and Navix, offer crossings according to their schedule.
Arrival on the island: the boat docks at the port of Saint-Gildas. Allow 30 minutes walk to reach the sailing school , the meeting point and starting point of your trip.
Recommended schedule: Choose a crossing that arrives in Houat no later than 11:00 AM , allowing for arrival at the sailing school at 11:45 AM . On the last day, the stay is scheduled to end around 4:15 PM at the sailing school . Opt for a return boat departing after 5:00 PM to allow sufficient time to reach the port and board the boat without stress.
To help you plan your trip in 2027: these time slots are provisional and subject to final ferry schedules. Before booking your train, check connections and allow sufficient time between the ship's arrival on the mainland and your departure from the station.
Go to the starting point
Reaching the ferry terminal by train:
Reference station: Auray, served all year round. In the summer season, the "Tire-Bouchon" train allows you to continue to Quiberon.
From Paris: direct TGV trains connect Paris-Montparnasse to Auray in approximately 2 hours 40 minutes for the fastest journeys .
From Auray to the Quiberon (Port-Maria) maritime station:
- In summer: the "Tire-Bouchon" reaches Quiberon in about 45 minutes . Then allow 15 minutes walk to the landing stage.
- By bus: the BreizhGo 601 line serves the ferry terminal. Check the timetable to plan your connection.
- By taxi or private hire vehicle: book your transfer in advance and request a quote. Allow extra time for traffic on the peninsula.
On the outward journey: choose a crossing arriving in Houat no later than 11:00 AM . Then allow 30 minutes to walk to the sailing school, where you'll be welcomed at 11:45 AM . Arriving on the mainland the day before can make your trip easier.
On the return trip: the end of the stay is scheduled for around 4:00 PM at the sailing school . We recommend taking a boat departing after 5:00 PM , and then allow enough time to get to Auray before your train.
- These details are provisional: check train, bus and boat timetables for 2027 before making any reservations.
Park your vehicle before crossing:
Your car will remain on the mainland for the duration of your trip. Plan for parking suitable for a multi-day stay, either in Quiberon or Port-Navalo , depending on your departure port.
Departing from Quiberon:
- Îles Parking: Located at the entrance to Quiberon, this secure, paid parking lot welcomes travelers heading to the islands. A free shuttle to the Port-Maria ferry terminal is available during its opening hours.
- Sizorn parking: this private paid parking lot is located less than 200 meters from the pier , which you can reach on foot.
Parking in the city centre streets is regulated: favour car parks intended for stays on the islands and check their booking conditions.
Departing from Port-Navalo:
The Sanso car park, at the entrance to Arzon , offers free parking for cars. During the summer season, the free Arzibus shuttle bus connects to the Port-Navalo ferry terminal. Check parking conditions for multi-day stays, as well as shuttle dates and times, before your departure.
Prepare your arrival carefully: allow enough time to park, unload your luggage, and reach the ferry terminal, respecting the arrival time requested by your ferry company. In summer, also anticipate potential traffic delays.
- Prices, opening times and shuttle services will be checked for the 2027 season.
