Location: The modern 4-star Heritage Hotel Hallstatt is located in the very center of Hallstatt. Access to the ski area is possible via the Krippensteinbahn 1 cable car, approximately 6.9 km away, or the Hornspitz Express cable car, approximately 15.5 km away. The Therme Bad Ischl thermal baths, approximately 20.4 km away, also offer a special wellness experience. A free ski bus to the Dachstein West ski area and a free bus to the Bad Ischl thermal baths stop approximately 800 m away. Amenities: This historic yet modern hotel comprises three listed buildings (Haus Kainz, Seethaler, and Stocker), situated approximately 300 to 500 m apart. The comfortable main building, "Haus Kainz," features a reception area, Wi-Fi access, an elevator, a breakfast room, a restaurant, a café, and a bar. Ski and snowboard storage is available. As Hallstatt town center is a low-traffic zone, cars can be parked in the public parking lot (approximately 1 km away) for an additional fee. A shuttle service will take you from there to your hotel. The wellness area includes a sauna. High chairs and cots are available upon request/subject to availability. Half-board includes a buffet breakfast. In the evening, you can enjoy a choice of three-course meals.

From Hallstatt station:

  1. By ferry: Take the Hallstättersee Schifffahrt ferry ( Stefanie line), which is synchronized with train arrivals. The crossing connects the train station to the Hallstättersee Markt/Landungsplatz pier, located directly next to the hotel. The crossing takes approximately 12 to 15 minutes (tickets cost approximately €3.50 to €4 per person).

From Bad Ischl train station:

  1. By bus or taxi: Take the regional bus (lines 542/543) to the Hallstatt Lahn stop (approximately 25-30 minutes journey, €5-7 per ticket), then walk approximately 5-10 minutes to the hotel. By taxi, the journey takes approximately 20-25 minutes (between €45 and €60).

  2. Linz Airport (LNZ) (approximately 110 km / 1h30 drive): Served mainly by Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa (flights via hubs in Frankfurt or Vienna).
Access by car

  1. From Paris (approximately 10 to 10.5 hours drive / ~980 km): Take the A4 motorway towards Strasbourg, then cross Germany via the A8 (passing through Munich) towards Austria. Continue on the B158 (from Salzburg), then the B145 and B166 to Hallstatt. (Austrian motorway vignette required).
  2. From Salzburg (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes / ~75 km): Take the B158 via Thalgau and Bad Ischl, then join the B145 and the B166 to Hallstatt.
  3. From Linz (approximately 1h30 to 1h45 / ~110 km): Take the A1 motorway then the Salzkammergutstraße (B145) to Hallstatt.
