Location: The pleasant Hotel Alpenhof is located approximately 300 meters from the center of Grindelwald. Access to the ski area is via the "Grindelwald-Firstbahn" cable car, located about 800 meters away. Downhill skiers will find ski runs almost directly outside the hotel. Ski buses stop approximately 300 meters away. A shuttle service to the train station is available. There is also a shuttle to the cable car. Amenities: The hotel is situated in a quiet location and features a reception area, Wi-Fi access, an internet corner, a lounge, an elevator, a restaurant, and a bar. You can store your winter sports equipment in a ski/snowboard room. Parking is available on site, subject to availability. Furthermore, the hotel participates in the Swisstainable sustainability program, which promotes sustainability in Swiss tourism. Wellness: In the wellness area, you will find a sauna and an infrared cabin. Children: High chairs and cots are available (upon request/subject to availability). Dining: Meals booked with half-board include a buffet breakfast. In the evening, a three-course menu is offered. Lactose-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian options are also available upon request. Take a train (SBB or TGV Lyria from France) to Interlaken Ost station, then take the regional Berner Oberland-Bahn (BOB) line to Grindelwald station or Grindelwald Terminal station.

  1. From Paris : allow approximately 5h30 to 6h journey with a TGV Lyria to Basel (Basel SBB) or Zurich, a SBB train to Interlaken Ost, then the BOB train to Grindelwald (approximately 35 minutes uphill from Interlaken).
  2. From the train station to the accommodation :
  3. On foot : depending on the location of your accommodation in the village, allow 5 to 15 minutes walk from Grindelwald's main train station.
  4. By local bus (Grindelwald Bus) : Local bus routes serve the entire valley and surrounding areas from the train station. The guest card issued by accommodation providers allows free use of the buses within the village.
  5. By taxi : local taxis are available at Grindelwald train station and Grindelwald Terminal (expect to pay between 15 and 25 CHF for a ride within the station).
